James "Buddy" Carrollton Pate, 72, of Indianola and formerly of Isola, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 12, 2017 at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola with his loving family by his side.
Buddy was born February 24, 1944 in Isola, and was the son of James and Daisy Boutwell Pate. He worked at Wade Incorporated as a mechanic until his retirement in 2002. Buddy was a member of First Baptist Church in Isola. He was a loving man and his children and grandchildren were his whole world. Buddy never met a stranger and he respected everyone. He touched many lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Peggy Duthu, Myrtis McClain, and Bonnie Jackson; and two brothers, Timmy Pate and Sam Pate.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Frances Miles Pate; one daughter, Lisa Pate Tisdale of Indianola; two sons, Bill Pate and his wife Jiva of Blytheville, Arkansas and Ricky Pate and his wife Julie of Sunflower; three sisters, Linda Rochelle and her husband Gary of Moorhead, Carolyn Burnside and her husband Clifford of Southaven, and Renee Jenkins and her husband Randy of Benton; three brothers, Jerry D. Pate and his wife Jean of Isola, Freddie Pate and his wife Edie of Coila, and Marvin Pate of Greenwood; brother-in-law, Calvin Jackson of Opp, Alabama; sister-in-law, Linda Gail Pate of Isola; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola Memorial Gardens. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
