Obituary

James "Jim" Frank Sibley, 74, of Inverness, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at his home. He was born in Cleveland, and was the son of Clarence and Louise Sibley. Jim received his Master of Business Administration from Delta State University. He was retired from Pillsbury and Federal Express.

Jim was very active in his community, and was a member of the Lion's Club of Inverness. He was the District Representative of St. Andrews Society, and was the Lay Representative to the Mississippi Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Jim was a very active member of Inverness United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years, and willingly served in any capacity needed. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Jim was an avid sportsman and loved turkey hunting.

Jim was a 32nd Degree K.C.C.H. Mason. His years of dedicated service began in June, 1988. He was a seven time past Master of the T. J. Catchings Lodge #394 in Inverness. He was the current Secretary and a past Master of the Indianola Lodge #450. During the years, Jim served in all positions within the Masonic Lodge. He served one year each as High Priest of Hillyer Chapter #113, Illustrious Master of Council #51, and Commander of the Knights Templar in Delta Commandary #16 York Rite in Greenville. He received his Commandary Degrees in September, 1996 in Water Valley. He also was a member of the Delta Scottish Rite Consistory in Clarksdale. Jim was the personal Representative to the Supreme Grand Council of the Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction of the United States, in Mississippi. He was responsible for the raising of funds to facilitate the renovations of the Scottish Rite Temple in Washington, D. C.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Sibley. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Charlotte Bell Sibley of Inverness; son, Mike Sibley and his wife Gina of Weddington, North Carolina; and daughter, Brooksie Sibley and fiancé John Gouveia of Matthews, North Carolina; sister-in-law Wendy Sibley of Hermosa Beach, California; and grandchildren, James Spencer Sibley and fiancée Jen Ramsey of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Patsy Sibley and husband Jake Clayton of Raleigh, North Carolina, Christina Sibley and Brendan Sibley, both of Weddington, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Funeral services will be Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Inverness United Methodist Church with burial following in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
