James Donald "Duley" Vance, 76, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at his home.

Duley was born February 6, 1946, in Sunflower County, to Thomas George Vance and Eva Marie Keith Vance.  He was a lifelong resident of Indianola where he attended school. Duley was a Mississippi Army National Guard veteran. He was a Supervisor at Modern Line Products in Indianola for over 35 years prior to his retirement. Duley was a jokester and loved to pick at people. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with his buddies. Duley loved his grandkids and great granddaughter more than anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Wallace Vance, Willard Vance, and Gerald Vance.

Duley is survived by his son, Kenny Vance of Indianola; two brothers, Ed Vance (Sue) of Greenville and Larry Vance (Sandra) of Indianola; sister, Carolyn Vance Abney of Tupelo; three sisters-in-law, Faye Vance and Carol Vance, both of Indianola, and Charlotte Vance of Tupelo; two grandsons, Dustin Vance and Hunter Vance (Megan); and one great granddaughter, Alyiah Vance.

Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2022, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Timothy Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
