Janice Meggs Willoughby, 68, of Belzoni, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.

Janice was born September 1, 1953, in Kosciusko, to Marvin Victor Meggs and Coallie Cain Meggs. She was a lifelong resident of Belzoni where she attended school. Janice loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed music and dancing and loved to smoke a cigarette and drink a Dr. Pepper. Janice worked for City Hall in Belzoni for many years prior to her retirement. She then became the caretaker of the Wade children and became affectionately known as "YaYa".

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Norris Meggs; and one sister, Glenda Merle Fulton.

Janice is survived by two daughters, Christy Willougby Bell of Belzoni and Labrisha Nicole Willoughby of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, Lance Arrington, Lucah Arrington, and Luna Willoughby; special family, Lindsay Wiman Wade and Anthony Wade and their children, Woods Wade and Sofia Wade; nephews, Tim Fulton of Columbus and Todd (Andrea) Fulton of Inverness; and other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at First Presbyterian Church in Belzoni. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Richard Wiman and Rev. Jerry Meggs officiating. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens in Belzoni. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
