Janie Lou Karr Criddle, 73, of Isola, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.

Janie was born February 24, 1950, in Panola County, to Hubert and Margaret Beard Karr. She worked as a daycare worker for many years. Janie loved her dogs and going for rides with her best friend, Ms. Frances Flemings. She loved her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Elizabeth Ann McKee; and two brothers, Jim Karr and Joe Bob Rodgers.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Criddle, Sr. of Isola; one son, Jimmy "JJ" Criddle, Jr. (Amanda) of Indianola; one daughter, Amanda Willard (Bradford) of Isola; two sisters, Geraldine Putnam of Oxford and Sarah Karr of Selby; and six grandchildren, Miranda Willard, Rebecca Willard, Maria Anne Criddle, William Jaylen Criddle, Edward Flemings, and Lydia Flemings.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
