Obituary

Jared Colter "Colt" Evans, 41, of Belzoni, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, at South Sunflower County Hospital.

Colt was born in Greenwood on August 30, 1983, to Charles Marion "Chuck" Evans, Jr. and Valarie French Evans. He married the love of his life, Emily Gullett on February 14, 2014, and from that day on, the two were inseparable. Colt worked as a warehouse manager for several years. He was a very caring person and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed help. Colt was a homebody that loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, watching scary movies, and spending time with his wife and family. Colt was a true friend, and he cherished his relationships with all of his friends. He was an animal lover and considered his dog, Skye, to be one of his children. Colt was a member of Gooden Lake Baptist Church in Belzoni,

He was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Evans; mother, Valarie Evans; stepfather Kenny Crotchett; paternal grandparents, Charles Marion Evans, Sr. and Frances Evans; maternal grandparents, Anita Johns and Ted Johns; and maternal grandfather, Roy French.
