Jean Helton Elmore, 81, of Indianola died Thursday, July 29, 2016 at South Sunflower County Hospital.

She was born August 12, 1934 and was the daughter of Steiner and Christine Fike Helton. Jean worked in Accounts Payable at Modern Line Products for over thirty years until her retirement. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Indianola and was a loving mother and grandmother. Jean loved to go to horse shows and help her daughter with horses.

Ms. Elmore was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert W. Elmore, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Robert W. Elmore, Jr. and his wife Sheryl of Starkville; daughter, Tambry Elmore of Indianola; one grandson, Thad Elmore; and two great grandchildren, Allie Beth Elmore and Payton Robert Elmore.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
