Jimmy Lee Mullen Jr. of Parsons died at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at his home.

He was born July 3, 1956, in Cleveland, Mississippi, a son of Jimmy Lee Sr. and Francis Joan (Kisner) Mullen. He grew up in Silver City, Mississippi, until he was 15, when the family moved to Indianola, Mississippi. He graduated from Humphreys County High School in Belzoni and began working at the Super Value Grocery Store there. He was employed 16 years there as a computer operator and store manager and then spent the next 17 years operating convenience stores in various communities, including Parsons in 1998, where he worked at Casey's. He lived at Garden City and other areas before returning to Parsons in 2006 and working at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.

On March 23, 1984, he married Rosemary Dill at Indianola, Mississippi. They divorced in 2011. He married Letha Marie Wills on Dec. 10, 2022, at Parsons.

He was born and raised a Southern Baptist and was currently a member of the Church of God at Parsons. He loved to fish and enjoyed listening to Southern Baptist music.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his wife, Letha Marie Wills Mullen of Parsons; five sons, Kenneth Wayne Mullen and his wife, Jennifer, of Canton, Mississippi, Ronnie Allen Mullen, Nathan Henry Mullen, both of Parsons, Kelon Evret Dill and his wife, Susie, of Brandon, Mississippi, Jason Allen Thiessen of Wichita; four daughters, Rhonda Renee Sims and her husband, Jade, of Shreveport, Louisiana, Mindi Marie Ross and her husband, Michael, Crystal Dawn Steiner and Teylia C. Baker and her husband, Caleb, all of Parsons; 16 grandchildren, Austin W. Wills and his wife, Towana, of Rosehill, Kristen N. Oswalt and her husband, Hunter, of DeWitt, Arkansas, Remington J. Thiessen of Wichita, Chazney E. Thiessen of Wichita, Reed Giachelli of Starkville, Mississippi, Austin Z. Hightower of Wichita, Dalton Ray of Carthage, Mississippi, Skyler J. Mullen of Clinton, Mississippi, Ansley A. Dill of Brandon, Mississippi, Breanna Ray of Carthage, Mississippi, Kaden E. Dill of Brandon, Mississippi, Alayna P. Mullen of Clinton, Mississippi, Rosalie C. Corbett of Blanchard, Indiana, Dodger Gunter of Carthage, Mississippi, Rylee Gunter of Carthage, Mississippi, and Greyson A. McCleary of Parsons;  two great-grandchildren, Alexander M. Oswalt and Alba M. Oswalt, both of DeWitt, Arkansas; a brother, Michael E. Mullen and his wife, Brenda, of Parsons; two sisters, Karen J. Hutto and her husband, Fred, of Clinton, Mississippi, and Nancy C. Mullen of Grenada, Mississippi; three nephews, Jeremy M. Mullen and his wife, Krystel, of Parsons, Andrew Hutto and his wife, Debbie, of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and James A. Gilmer Jr. of Grenada, Mississippi; and a niece, Regina (Mullen) Champion and her husband, Brandon, of Duck Hill, Mississippi.

A son, Christopher J. Dill; and a daughter, Crystal D. Mullen, preceded him in death.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 1:00 pm, in the Indianola City Cemetery in Indianola, Mississippi. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
