Nora JoAnn Freeman Tisdale, 63, of Isola, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson.

JoAnn was born January 7, 1959, in Greenville, and was the daughter of John Carl Freeman and Jo Cork Freeman. She married Lynn Tisdale on June 14, 1980, and together they made their home in Isola. JoAnn was an instructor at Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead. She was an avid Mississippi State football, baseball, and basketball fan. JoAnn was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Isola where she served as choir director. She loved meeting new people and visiting with her friends. JoAnn had a kind and gentle spirit and was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Carl Freeman.

JoAnn is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Lynn Tisdale of Isola; mother, Jo Freeman of West Point; two sons, Logan Tisdale of Pensacola, Florida, and Josh Tisdale of Isola; brother, John (Sherry) Freeman of West Point; and sister, Lillian (Byron) Trahan of Tupelo.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Isola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Eddie Painter officiating. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens in Belzoni. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
