John David Davenport, Jr., 55, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Delta Health The Medical Center in Greenville.

David was born August 30, 1965, in Ruleville, to John David Davenport and Barbara Carpenter Davenport. He worked as a roofer for many years until his health forced him to retire. David was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing video games. He was a wonderful son, brother, father, and grandfather. David would give you the shirt off his back and would do without so that others could have. He would never ask anyone for anything and never complained.

He is survived by his parents Johnny and Barbara Davenport of Indianola; two sons, John David Davenport, III and Christopher Ryan Davenport both of Indianola; sister, Cindy Davenport Tullos (Mike) of Minter City; and one grandson, Masen Gray Davenport.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 26, 2021, from 2:00 pm until the 3:00 pm funeral service at Roundaway Baptist Church in Doddsville. Rev. Bob Hill will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Roundaway Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
