Joseph Randolph Grissette, Jr., 61, of Vaiden, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Joe was born in Humphreys County and was the son of Joseph Randolph and Sue Cummins Grissette.
After high school, Joe enlisted with the Mississippi Army National Guard in Indianola. He served his country for 6 years, and was an E5 Sergeant at his discharge. He was a Pipe Fitter with Mississippi Marine Corp. in Greenville. Joe loved being outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He was a member of Roundaway Baptist Church, Doddsville.
He was preceded in death by his father. Joe leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Sue of Indianola; his wife, Sharon Toler Grissette of Vaiden; brothers, Clarence Grissette (Linette) of Springdale, AR, Ricky Grissette (Teresa) of Indianola; sister, Cynthia Wilkinson (Randy) of Springdale, AR; children, Christie Lee (Dale) Sandford of Calhoun, LA, Lisa Grissette of Marianna, AR, Mandy Brown of Star City, AR, Katrina Kelley of Winona, Kristin Evans of Cleveland, John Kelley of Shaw; father-in-law, Bobby Toler, Sr. of Vaiden; and 12 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm at Burton Funeral Home, Indianola. Graveside services will be held at Roundaway Cemetery, Doddsville at 3:30 pm with Rev. Bob Hill officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
