Joyce Chandler Cook, 89, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Joyce was born November 26, 1934, in Sunflower to Bingham and Ida Mae Phillips Chandler. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years before retiring. Joyce enjoyed reading, watching sports on television, and especially watching her grandchildren play sports when her health allowed. She never met a stranger. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church in Leland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Cook, Sr.; and one son, Larry Cook.

Joyce is survived by her son, Tommy Cook of Inverness; brother, Larry Chandler (Lee Anna) of Gautier; grandson, Watson Cook (Melissa) of Inverness; and two great-grandchildren, Easton and William Cook of Inverness.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Stoneville Cemetery in Leland. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
