Joyce Faith Brasher Ouzts, 89, of Indianola, and formerly of Greenville, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at South Sunflower County Hospital.

Joyce was born on December 15, 1935, in Greenville, to Thomas Jefferson Brasher and Nettie Louise Warren Brasher. She worked for many years in the mental health field. Joyce was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William C. Ouzts, and son, William R. Ouzts.

Joyce is survived by two sons, Cecil E. Ouzts (Debbie) of Clarkston, Michigan, and David M. Ouzts (Carla) of Greenville; two sisters, Mary Pearson and Jimmie Nell Brasher, both of Pensacola, Florida; brother, Tommy Brasher of Fulton Landing, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Arthur Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
