Justin Bradley Young, 29, of Champaign, Illinois, and formerly of Inverness, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Champaign, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Justin was born August 3, 1992, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, to Arley Donald Young and Rosemary Pratt Young. He graduated from Aynor High School in Aynor, South Carolina, and earned his Associates Degree from Coastal Community College in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Justin then took online classes at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. He worked as a web designer. Most recently, he began studying Japanese trying to learn to read and write in the language. He was a passionate gamer, avid reader, and an artist. Justin was very sensitive and always put others first. He was very organized and was a thrill seeker. Justin was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for his family. He was very thoughtful and one year for Christmas, he assembled everyone's favorite family recipes into a cookbook and gave the cookbooks to his family as gifts. Justin was a very devoted caregiver for his father during his illness. He was the best uncle and brother. Justin was a role model for his niece, Madison and the biggest cheerleader for she and his nephew, Dylan. It was Justin's desire to give the gift of life to others by being an organ donor. Through his organ donation, he was able to touch the lives of 29 individuals in need.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald "Duck" Young.
Justin is survived by his mother, Rosemary Pratt Young of Inverness; brother, Jonathan (Kalan) Young of Champaign, Illinois; two sisters, Allison (Mike) McKnight of Flora, and Melanie (Trey) Curington of Flora; nephew, Dylan McKnight of Oxford; and niece, Madison Curington of Flora.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Linda Malone officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Able Gamers, 179 E. Burr Blvd. Suite Q, Kearneysville, WV 25430, or online at ablegamers.org. This is a charity that helps the disabled battle social isolation through gaming.
