Karen Klein Pennington, 58, of Sunflower, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at her home.

Karen was born January 17, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Peter Nicholas Klein and Nancy Carol Hessler Klein. She worked as a truck driver hauling cattle for many years. Karen was a jack of all trades; she could do just about anything. She was an animal lover and loved people. Karen rarely met a stranger. She would talk to anyone whether she knew them or not and usually about her children and grandchildren. Karen loved the Lord and was a devoted member of Grace Community Church in Indianola. She was the "Mother Goose" of the church because she was always calling to check on everyone and sending birthday cards. Karen had the rare ability to make something from nothing. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Nicole Horne Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Ricky Pennington of Crystal Springs; daughter, Katrina Reynolds Jobe (Kenny) of Sunflower; son, Donnie Reynolds of Sunflower; brother, Mike Klein (Tina) of Ohio; three sisters, Peggy Chapman (Eddie), Debbie Collett (Randy) both of Ohio, and Tracy Brown of Ripley, Tennessee; half brother, Steven Eric Klein of Ohio; her aunt "Mama" Gloria McDonald of Ohio; six grandchildren, Caleb Reynolds, Cole Jobe, Preston Reynolds, Maddie Grace Reynolds, Kyle Jobe, and Wyatt Reynolds; close friends, Carol McGraw and Pat Lewis of Houston; her beloved dog, Jemma; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at noon at Burton Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Morgan officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
