Kathryn Fike
Alford
Jul 23, 1954 — May 23, 2023
Indianola
Kathryn Fike Alford, 68, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at St. Dominic – Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Kathy was born July 23, 1954, in Hollandale, to Johnny Burke Fike and Margaret Taylor Fike. She graduated from Indianola High School and Mississippi Delta Junior College. Kathy married Leonard Earl Alford, Jr. on May 18, 1974, and they made their home in Indianola. She worked as an account manager for Delta Pride Catfish and Consolidated Catfish for 35 years prior to her retirement. Kathy was a loving, caring, and generous person. She had a sweet spirit and loved helping others. Kathy enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching her grandchildren play sports, and penny sales at Dollar General. She would travel all over the delta on Tuesdays to find the penny deals of the week. So much so, that she had to dedicate an entire room in her house to things she bought from the sales. Then she would enjoy giving those things away to others. Kathy loved her family and enjoyed every moment she spent with them. She loved going on cruises and always had the best time. Kathy was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Indianola.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Fike; mother, Margaret Fike Labella; stepfather, Buddy Labella; two brothers, Duane Fike and David "Buster" Fike; step-sister, Anita Labella Keys.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Earl Alford of Indianola; daughter, Stephanie Alford Hill (Wayne) of Isola; son, Stephen Alford of Doddsville; brother, Danny Fike (Linda); sister-in-law, Pat Fike of Indianola; step-sister, Theresa Labella Farmer of Greenwood; step-brother, Pete Labella (Sue) of Georgia; and four grandchildren, Guice Hill, Alford Hill, Tyler Alford, and Kaylee Alford.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home, with Bro. Benjie Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola Memorial Gardens. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
