Teresa Katie Jenkins, Marquis, 66, of Indianola, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at South Sunflower County Hospital.

Katie was born November 24, 1957, in Indianola, to Jack and Bonnie Brown Jenkins. She worked as a beautician prior to her retirement. Katie loved her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed collecting arrowheads and rocks. Katie was a free spirit who never met a stranger. She lived her life on her own terms.  Katie was a member of First Baptist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Jenkins.

Katie is survived by three children, Amy Hill, Tammy Marquis Merritt, and Joseph Marquis, Jr.; two brothers, John Jenkins, and Ray Jenkins (Wanda); and thirteen grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
