Katie Earline Melton McClain, 73, of Belzoni, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.

Katie was born on September 7, 1944, in Bruce, to James Lester and Jewel Lingenfelter Melton. Katie married James Donald McClain and together they made their home in Isola raising six children. She was a very loving and kind person and loved sewing, knitting, and scrapbooking.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Heron and husband John of Greenville, Ginger Daniels and husband Carl of Isola, Bridget McClain of Isola, Amanda Hughes and husband Jay of Isola; sons, Donald E. McClain and wife Holly of Belzoni, James E. McClain of Isola; one sister, Helen Louise Johnson and one brother, James Lester McClain, both of Rolling Fork, Mississippi; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family receive will friends Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Gooden Lake Baptist Church Cemetery in Belzoni. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
