Kenneth Wesley Hudson, 77, of Indianola, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Kenneth was born June 1, 1945, in Myrtle, Mississippi, to Wilford Duncan "Dunk" and Marjorie Fowler Hudson. He graduated from Myrtle High School in 1963, and the University of Mississippi in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in education. Kenneth taught Mathematics at Gentry High School in Indianola for 29 ½ years prior to his retirement. After his retirement from teaching, he sold crop insurance through Rain and Hail for several years. He supported a lot of charities and was a big supporter of the Gentry High School basketball teams. Kenneth also enjoyed attending Ole Miss football games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dunk and Marjorie Hudson; four brothers, Carl, Gene, Don, and Danny; and four sisters, Willie Mae, Captola, Johnnie Sue, and Mary Linda.
Kenneth is survived by two sisters, Patsy Dunahue and Darlene Moore; one brother, Travis Hudson all of Myrtle; a special sister in law, Barbara Hudson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Dr. Guy Burke officiating.
A second visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Beulah Baptist Church, 1102 County Road 72, Myrtle, MS. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Myrtle. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family would like to say a special thanks to his caregiver, Kathy Ables, for the special care she gave him; and also to Jerry Ramage, his wife, Marie, and their daughter, Brooklyn for all their love and support for their brother.
