Obituary

Lauren Ann Moore passed away on July 7, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born June 16, 1986, and burst into the world with joy and passion every day. She began her academic career at Central Delta Academy from Kindergarten through ninth grade, where she enjoyed playing basketball, running track, and cheerleading. She transferred to Indianola Academy to finish high school, where she excelled at basketball as the team's center. She continued her education in Jackson, where she received her Medical and Billing Coding Certification. She began her career at Life Help in Greenwood in the Finance department, where she was an indispensable asset for 16 years.

While a tragic accident left Lauren paralyzed at the tender age of 16, she never considered herself "handicapped" but preferred to say "temporarily out of order." Her tenacity in forging ahead and dancing in the rain became an inspiration to all.

Lauren's passion for all things NASCAR began with an introduction to racing by Rick Kadel. Lauren was hooked! Race season would find her actively following her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. ( #88). Talladega was her happy place, and she attended whenever she had the opportunity.

Lauren will be deeply missed by her mother, dear friend Tami Vincent Moore, and her brother, Lance V. Moore (fiancé Crista Brown). Her aunts and uncles: Chuck and Joy Minshew of Keller, Texas; Sandra and Curtis Thompson of Oxford, Mississippi; Alicia Vincent of Richland, Mississippi; and Elaine Vincent of Florence, Mississippi. Her precious nieces and nephew, Lanee Moore, Avery Moore, and Preston Moore. Her cousins Christie M. Lewis, Casey Minshew, Mark Vincent, Sam Vincent, Amber Vincent, Trey Moore and Amber Thompson. She also "lovingly adopted" Gracie, Riley and Cody Sligh as her "special kiddos."

She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Wilson Moore, grandparents, Col. Samuel M. and Bettye Vincent, and James Albert and Robbie Moore.

Lauren died as she lived, thinking of others, as she was an organ donor and blessed others with her 'gifts'.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.

In Lauren's memory, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
