Lee Roy Whitaker, 43, of Indianola died Monday, July 4, 2016 at his home. Lee Roy was born May 15, 1973 in Isola and was the son of Larry Raymond and Hesterine Whitaker. He was a longtime employee of McClain Farms in Indianola. Lee Roy loved hunting, fishing, cooking, and riding around listening to good music. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Lee Roy Whitaker, Jr.

Lee Roy is survived by his stepmother, Mae Raymond of Greenville; wife, Tonua Flemings Whitaker of Indianola; son, Allen Whitaker of Indianola; stepson, Joseph Flemings and his wife Patty of Scott; stepdaughter, Robin Flemings of Isola; three brothers, Steve Raymond and his wife Julie of Greenville; Jerry Raymond and his wife Cynthia of Chatham; and Calvin Raymond and his wife Deana of Greenville; three sisters, Roxanne Duthu and her boyfriend Tony Sipes of Pansy, Arkansas, Diane Raymond and her husband Lynn of Rolling Fork, and Gail Raymond and her husband Jason of Greenville; an two grandchildren, Joseph Flemings, Jr. and Alexis Rena Flemings.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Indianola Memorial Gardens. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
