Louis Homer Barner, III, affectionately known as Bing, 66, of Moorhead, passed away peacefully December 10, 2017, at his home.
Bing was born February 12, 1951 in Tennessee to Louis Homer Barner, II and Alice Faye Sullivan Barner. He grew up in Greenwood where he attended school. Bing graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics degree. He married Paula Young in 1977. Bing and Paula moved to Moorhead in 1981. He worked for Sunburst Bank in Moorhead for over ten years. Bing later worked for Jefferson Bank in Greenville for many years and retired in 2014. After getting bored with retirement, he went to work with Hope Credit Union working in commercial lending. Bing loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and cooking for friends. Bing was always doing something for other people. He was a very loyal friend. Bing was a member of Moorhead United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Homer Barner, II and Alice Faye Sullivan Barner.
Bing is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Paula Young Barner of Moorhead; two daughters, Corri Barner Zepponi and husband Tory of Indianola, and Leah Barner MacNealy and husband Beau of Inverness; one brother, Mike Barner and wife Bridgett of Greenwood; and two grandchildren, Lawson and Laura Chappel Zepponi both of Indianola.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm memorial service at Moorhead United Methodist Church in Moorhead. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
