Louis Dale Tharp passed away at his home on April 1, 2025, in Ewin, Tennessee, at the age of 80.

He was born July 9, 1944, in Indianola to Oakley Tharp Sr. and Kathleen Hodges Tharp. Louis will be remembered for his jokes, brilliant wit, and for being a father and brother like no other.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oakley Tharp; mother, Kathleen Tharp; brother, Walter L. Tharp; and a sister, Martha "Patsy" Carlise.

Louis leaves behind his loving son, Mark Tharp (Amy); sister, Betty Nell Bell; two brothers, Oakley Tharp, Jr. (Judy) and Danny Ray Tharp (Mary Frances).

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:30 am until the 11:00 am memorial service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
