Monty Louise Hocutt Bridges, 86, of Indianola, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at Indianola Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Louise was born August 13, 1937, in Samantha, Alabama, to Albert Clay Hocutt and Annie Lou Sparks Hocutt. She resided in Clarksdale for many years prior to moving to Indianola in 1997. Louise worked as a grocery clerk at Harvest Foods for 21 years prior to her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Annie Lou Hocutt; son, Donald Bridges; and ten of her siblings.

Louise is survived by her husband, George Kirksey of Indianola; son, James Edward "Eddie" Bridges, Jr. (Frances) of Hernando; daughter, Vicki Grice (Bill) of Wallace Lake, Arkansas; one brother, Mike Hocutt (Amy) of Alabama; sister, Ruth Finley of Briarfield, Alabama; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Chandra Redwine will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
