Loy Benjamin Goss, Jr., 75, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland.

Loy was born on February 15, 1949, in Cleveland, to Loy Benjamin Goss and Ruby Hardin Goss. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, a beloved brother, and a great friend. Loy was a devoted member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Boyle and United Pentecostals of Cleveland. He worked as a painter with Wayne Ford for many years. Loy enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by many.

Loy was preceded in death by his father, Loy Goss and his beloved wife, Carolyn Goss.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Jean Stringer (Jeremia), of Las Vegas, Nevada; his mother, Ruby Goss of Pascagoula; three brothers, William Goss, of Greenwood, Alvie Goss, of Blaine, and Noel Goss, of Pascagoula; three grandchildren, Sarah Lindsey, Austin Goolsby, and Emily Stringer; sister-in-law, Mary (Dave) Hendricks; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Burton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Afterwards, he will be buried at Itta Bena Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
