Lucile E. Simmons, 91, of Ruleville and formerly of Memphis died Monday, June 15, 2015 at Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility in Ruleville. Ms. Simmons was born March 18, 1924 in Humphreys County, Mississippi to Isaac Herbert Simmons and Inez Doris Calhoun Simmons. She graduated from Wylie's Business School and worked as a secretary for Standard Oil in Memphis for over 40 years until her retirement. Ms. Simmons was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sylvia Maude Simmons and Inez LaRue Brown; and one brother, Herbert Aaron Simmons. Ms. Simmons is survived by her brother, Billy Simmons and wife, Carol of Indianola; three sisters, Augusta S. Armstrong of Memphis, Tennessee, Erin S. Blessitt of Huntsville, Alabama, and Kathryn S. Alford of Clinton, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Roundaway Cemetery in Doddsville with Rev.
