Lucy Marline Wheeler, born on June 25, 1960, in Quitman County, Mississippi, passed away on August 4, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Her life was marked by a sense of humor, devotion to family, and a great pride in her grandchildren. Lucy is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Cynthia Wood and Jennifer Cook. Her presence will be missed by her brother, Mickey Wheeler, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Logan Cook, Morgan Cook, and Kennedy Cook. She is also survived by a special cousin, Patsy (Frank) Williams, each of whom shared a unique and meaningful bond with her.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, John Wheeler and Callie Mae Holloway Wheeler. She was also predeceased by her siblings Butch Wheeler, Harold Wheeler, Mike Wheeler, Richard Wheeler, and Joyce Goss.
Lucy worked at Fred's Dollar Store and Delta Pride Catfish. She enjoyed watching Yellowstone and Dutton Ranch. Known for her light-hearted approach to life, Lucy believed that humor belonged everywhere—she preferred laughter over seriousness, a quality that endeared her to friends and family alike. Her pride in her grandchildren was an unwavering aspect of her life; they were a continual source of joy and fulfillment.
At her request, no service will be held. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
