Funeral services for Lynda Moreland Hall, 87, of Indianola will be at 2 o'clock this Wednesday, November 16, at the Indianola Church of Christ.  Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hall was the wife of Robert W. Hall, Sr., and daughter of the late Lenna (Davis) and Oscar Owen Moreland, Sr.  She was born on August 8, 1935 in Steiner, the oldest of their three children, and preceded in death by her two brothers – Oscar Owen Moreland, Jr., his wife Katherine, and Ralph Davis Moreland.

She attended Linn High School and received many honors and awards, including valedictorian of her senior class.  She stayed in touch with friends from Linn, attending many school reunions over the years.

Lynda and Robert married on May 1, 1953, and lived in Florida as newlyweds while Robert served in the Air Force.  They moved back to Mississippi a few years later, making their home in Indianola where they raised three children: Marilyn Hall Mulherin (m. Harbert), and Deborah Hall Hester (m. Bill), and Robert Wayne Hall, Jr. (m. Libba Morgan Vickery).  She is preceded in death by son Rob.

She is survived by daughters: Marilyn of Dallas, Texas, and her children – Helen  Patterson (m. Chris) and Harbert Mulherin III (m. Margaret), both of Dallas, Texas; and Debbie of Stoneville, and her children – Libby McRight (m. John Hunter) of Madison, Merideth VanNamen (m. Stephen) of Cleveland, Trey Hester (m. Jenna) of Memphis, Sara Moreland Hester of Leland, and Rachael Hester of Stoneville; and Robert Hall III of Dallas, Texas, and his siblings in Nashville, Tennessee, Jane Anna Vickery and Halle Vickery.  She was also blessed with 15 great grandchildren.

Lynda had a rewarding professional career, most notably as a long-time court reporter for the Fourth District Circuit Court. She was also a member of several longstanding bridge clubs in Indianola, as well as social organizations such as the Indianola Garden Club and the Civic League.  To add to her academic accomplishments, she attended Delta State University in her sixties, achieving a Bachelor of Fine Arts summa cum laude .  She always enjoyed the arts and music.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
