Margie Lou Schaefer Morgan, 85, of Leland, and formerly of Indianola, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Indianola Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Margie was born April 20, 1936, in Indianola to John Henry Schaefer and Agnes Louise Mitchell Schaefer. She worked as a physical therapy assistant at Mississippi Sports Medicine for many years until her retirement at age 76. Margie enjoyed sitting on her back porch and watching birds and the ducks on the lake. She loved taking care of Magnum, her grandson's golden retriever, so much so that she wouldn't let him take him with him when he moved away from home. Margie loved her family and enjoyed celebrating holidays because it meant all of the family would be together.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Shelby Morgan; infant daughter, Sally Irene Morgan; daughter, Shelley Martin; and three sisters, Emogene Shaffer, Katherine Anders, and Dot Langley.

Margie is survived by three daughters, Susan (Harold) Dillard of Anderson, California, Sharmon (Skeet) Edwards of Leland; and Sandra Yvette McLevain of Jackson, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm, Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Burton Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jon Doler officiating. Interment will be postponed until at later date. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
