Martha Janet Erwin Cave, 80, of Indianola, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Indianola Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Indianola.
Janet was born December 11, 1936 in Sunflower, and was the daughter of Clyde J. and Edna Walters Erwin. She married Donald Lee Cave on May 5, 1957 and together, they made their home in Indianola. Janet was one of the founding members of Christ United Methodist Church. She owned and operated Janet's Beauty Salon for 54 years until her retirement in 2010. Janet was a true southern lady, loved to cook and was a very hardworking woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Jo Hawk; and her beloved husband, Donald Lee Cave.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Janice Cave Leach and Beverly Cave Caldwell and her husband Jerry both of Indianola; one son, Donald Lee Cave, Jr. and his wife Christi of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Evelyn Sandling of Silver City and Virginia Hall of Belzoni; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Christ United Methodist Church, 221 Elaine Street, Indianola, MS. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
