Mary Lou Hancock Knight, 76, of Doddsville, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility, Ruleville. Mary Lou was born in Cotton Plant, Arkansas and was the daughter of Leslie Thomas and Alice Pearl Hancock. She was a member of Roundaway Baptist Church, and a lifetime member of the VFW. She was a co-owner of Desert Suzuki in Barstow, California prior to moving back to Mississippi. She served as a Sunflower County Election Commissioner for many years until her retirement.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Knight of Doddsville; one sister, Judy Carol Hancock Braswell of Doddsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home, Indianola. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 pm in Roundaway Baptist Church Cemetery, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.
