Obituary

Mary Belle Berryhill Irvin, 95, of Greensboro, Alabama, and formerly of Isola, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Greensboro, Alabama.

She was born December 23, 1922, in Utica to Thomas and Betty Beasley Berryhill. Mrs. Irvin was a serious person but was very funny and had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed fishing and cooking fish. Mrs. Irvin was known for her wonderful strawberry cake and enjoyed making them for her Berryhill family reunions. She was a very devoted mother and loved her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Irvin worked for South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Isola.

Mrs. Irvin was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C. Troy Irvin; one brother; and one sister.

She is survived by two sons, William Troy "Billy" Irvin and wife Nancy of Branson, Missouri, and Wesley Wayne Irvin and wife Peggy of Uniontown, Alabama; four grandchildren, Wes Irvin, Jason Irvin, William Troy "Bill" Irvin, Jr., and Pamela Ann Irvin; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
