Mary Juanice "Niecie" King Kirksey, 81, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Niecie was born July 21, 1941, in Choctaw, to Everette Freeman King and Myrtis Irene Allen King. She worked for Greenville Mills for 15 years and then worked for Indianola Health and Rehabilitation as the Activity Director for 15 years prior to her retirement. Niecie enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cooking. She loved her family and enjoyed fellowshipping with them. Everyone was always welcome in her home. Niecie was very spiritual and was a faithful daughter of God. She led many people to the Lord. Niecie became a spiritual mother to several and was always a phone call away. She was a devoted member of Living Faith Fellowship in Indianola.

Niecie was preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Myrtis King; brother, Glen King; and two daughters, Sherrie Renea Kirksey and Deirdre "DeeDee" Kirksey Melton.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clarence Clayton Kirksey, Sr., of Indianola; two children, Terrie Lynn Kirksey of Arlington, Tennessee and Clay Kirksey (Linda) of Indianola; son-in-law, Allen Melton of Pangburn, Arkansas; sister, Jeanette (Aaron) Horis of Harrison, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Matthew (Josie) Kirksey of Texas, Whitney (Daniel) Tate of Texas, Justin Melton of Arkansas, Tabatha (Brandon) Rackley of Mississippi, and Rachel Kirksey of Texas; and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. James Newton and Rev. Arnold Amason officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
