Mary Wolfe Mathis, 92, of Indianola, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Washington Care Center in Greenville. Ms. Mathis was born in DeValls Bluff, AR to Ray and Martha Etheridge Wolfe. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.

Ms. Mathis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis H. Mathis; and one sister, Alice Floyd. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Johnny Mathis of Indianola; daughters, Doris Mathis of Colville, AR and Shirley Betts and husband Bill of Indianola; grandchildren, Billy Betts and wife Stacey of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Julie Morris and husband Jed of New Albany, Michael Betts and wife Shirell of Morton, and Ray Betts and wife Stephanie of Memphis; great grandchildren, Peyton Betts, Logan Betts, Brantley Betts, Hughlyn Morris, Matt Morris, Madilyn Morris, Tyler Betts, Kate Betts, Eli Betts, and Lyla Betts.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 1:30 pm until the 2:30 pm funeral service at Eastwood Baptist Church, Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
