Mary Louise Myers, 75, of Isola, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Indianola Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born April 18, 1944, in Isola to Lester Warren Myers and Minnie Mae Irvin Myers. After graduation from Isola High School in 1962, Mary Louise graduated from Delta State University in 1966 with a double major in Home Economics and Elementary Education. Following graduation from Delta State, she became a schoolteacher where she taught Home Economics for the Humphreys County School System for 3 years. Mary Louise went on to become an elementary schoolteacher at Deer Creek School, Humphreys Academy, and Central Delta Academy. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, flowers, collecting Christmas villages and numerous Santa Clauses. Mary Louise really loved Christmas. She was a member of Inverness United Methodist Church.
Mary Louise was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two brothers, Lester W. Myers, Jr. and his wife Myra of Isola, John Myers of Mobile, Alabama; two nephews; one niece; one great niece; five great nephews; and three caregivers, Mae Stewart of Inverness, Erika Smith and Shaunta Carter.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside service. Rev. Bryan Burge will officiate. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
