Obituary

Mary Lynn LaPresto, 64, died on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at her daughter's home in Greenwood, MS. Lynn was born April 6, 1957, in Vicksburg, MS to Kenneth Malcolm Swindle and Sally Lou (Carson) Swindle.
After graduating high school (Cleveland High School Class of 1975), she studied nursing at Mississippi Delta Community College. Lynn served her community as a registered nurse from 1985 until her retirement in 2020.
Lynn was a faithful member of Interstate Baptist Church in Shaw, MS, where she served on the Flower Committee, Benevolent Committee, Hospitality Committee, Children's Committee, and Youth Committee. She was also a member of the church choir and enjoyed participating in the Christmas and Easter Cantatas the most. In her faithful service to the Lord, Lynn was actively involved in missions and sponsored several children through Compassion International and Final Frontier.
Lynn was an avid gardener and animal lover. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend; however, Lynn found her most joy in being LaLa to her three grandsons. She was a shining light to all that knew her. She, her warm hugs, and welcoming smile will be missed by many.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Sally Swindle, and her step-daughter, Nancy Lee LaPresto. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Brother" LaPresto of Boyle; daughter, Autumn (Dustin) McCaleb of Greenwood; step-son, Donnie LaPresto of Baton Rouge, LA; sister Donna (Elbert) McKnight of Lake Cormorant; brother, Mark Swindle of Ocean Springs; nephew, Chad (Bethany) McKnight of Hernando; grandchildren, Gage, Karson, and Bryce McCaleb; and a host of extended family.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to Adoration Hospice, specifically Teresa Palmertree (RN) and Mary Flemming (CNA), for their attentiveness and loving care. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Lynn's name to any of the following: local animal shelter, Baptist Children's Village, Cleveland Women's Resource Center.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Lynn at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Interstate Baptist Church in Shaw. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
