Indianola
Michael Anderson of Indianola passed away peacefully at his home on August 7, 2021. Mike was born on February 5, 1957, two minutes before his identical twin brother, Leslie. The adventures of the Anderson Twins began that day adding plenty of mischief to Jack and Neda Anderson's home they already shared with big sister, Kathy. The military took the Andersons to Memphis, Tennessee and Frankfort, Germany, before the family settled down in Inverness for most of the twins' childhood years. Mike attended school at Central Delta Academy and graduated from Indianola Academy in 1975. He then graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1979 with a degree in business. He enjoyed a 40-year career in the life insurance business working primarily for Lamar Life Insurance Company and Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company. Mike was a talented musician. He was actively involved in the Mid Delta Arts Theater as well as the choir at First United Methodist Church.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Neda Anderson, his sister, Kathy Johnston, and his twin brother, Leslie. He is survived by his children, Max Anderson of Mobile, Alabama and Garraway Anderson of Memphis, Tennessee. He is also survived by his aunts, Mable Wilson and Levenia Barnes of Shreveport, Louisiana, many relatives, and his special friend, Lee O'Banion.
The family would like to thank Mary Jones, Trena Banks, and Tanisha Wells for all their help and support they provided Mike.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation, PO Box 27986, Golden Valley, MN 55427 or the First United Methodist Church, 205 Second Street, Indianola, MS 38751.
