Michael Douglas Garvin, 64, of Isola, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Baptist Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford. Michael was born November 19, 1957, in Petaluma, California, to William McAlpine Garvin, Jr. and Leona Olga Grant Garvin. He worked for many years as a welder until his health failed. Michael loved to help people and was a hard worker. He could out work most people when his health was good. Michael was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Michael Wayne Garvin. Michael is survived by two brothers, Timothy Wayne Garvin of Isola and William Eugene Garvin of Greenwood; one sister, Debbie Hearn of Marks; and one grandchild. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Pete Roncali officiating. Burial will follow in Belzoni City Cemetery in Belzoni. Burton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
