Michael James Walker, 64, of Inverness, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at his home. Michael was born July 4, 1959, to Hilton and Anna Banks Walker. He grew up in Inverness and graduated from Indianola Academy. While in high school, he played basketball and played catcher on the baseball team. Michael joined the United States Navy and after his discharge, he went to college and got a degree in culinary arts. He was an accomplished chef for many years prior to moving back to Inverness to care for his brother. Michael was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Rusty Walker of Inverness. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness with Rev. Linda Malone officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
