Milton Earl Jefcoat, 83, of Shaw, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland.
Milton was born on December 6, 1942, in Linn, to Milton Wooley Jefcoat and Ruth Boyd Jefcoat. He was the co-owner of the family partnership, Topanga Farms for many years prior to his retirement. Milton loved farming and loved being in the outdoors, hunting deer, turkey, and ducks. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Milton was a faithful member of the Indianola First Methodist Church. He was instrumental in getting North Mississippi Chrysalis started in Indianola. He loved his early morning Monday Men's Emmaus group and was a strong prayer warrior. "As we laugh and talk, may God be glorified."
Milton was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tommy Wayne Jefcoat.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Suzanne Reed Jefcoat of Shaw; five children, Gigi (Matt) McMurray, Jere (Paul) Myers, Jodi (Todd) Ervin, Justin (Amanda) Jefcoat, and Tombo (Elizabeth) Jefcoat; brother, Judge (Midge) Jefcoat; two sisters, Carolyn (Johnny) Martin and Linda Powers; grandchildren, Matthew (Meg) McMurray, Josh McMurray, Sam McMurray, Joy Morgan (Reynolds) Spencer, Brown Myers, Brewer Myers, Anna Todd Ervin, Dan Ervin, John Ervin, Ann Lamar Jefcoat, Reagan Coleman, and Grant Coleman; and great-grandchildren, Truitt McMurray and Charlie McMurray.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in Newman Hall at First Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Lindsey and Rev. Jim Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
