Mary Melissa Stevens Pitts, 56, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at her home.

Missy was born December 10, 1964, in Jackson, to William Gene Stevens and Mary Elizabeth Mayfield Stevens. She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi. While at Ole Miss she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. She loved reading, gardening, going to the beach and riding around with her dogs. Missy served on the Board of Directors for the Indianola Educational Foundation at Indianola Academy for 20 years. She was a nurse practitioner with Indianola Family Medical Group for many years prior to her retirement.

Missy was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Liz Stevens.

She is survived by her husband, Will Pitts of Indianola and three children, Lizzy Pitts of New Orleans, Mitchell Pitts of Indianola, and Molly Pitts of Oxford.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 23, 2021, from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at First United Methodist Church in Indianola. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Trey Skaggs officiating. A private family burial will follow. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
