Mittie Lee Brooks Baggett, 95, of Indianola died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Cleveland Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cleveland. Mrs. Baggett was born February 10, 1921 in Red Bay, Alabama and was the daughter of Newt and Zenith Aldridge Brooks. She was a homemaker and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Baggett was a member of God's Harvest Church of God in Indianola.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben Franklin Baggett; four daughters, Eulean Vice, Hazel Baggett, Ann Baggett, and Brenda Hood; and three sons, Junior Davenport, Ben Baggett, Jr., and Glen Baggett.

Mrs. Baggett is survived by four sons, Edward Lee Davenport of Shaw, Newt Franklin Baggett and his wife Ann of Belzoni, James Wesley Baggett and his wife Debbie of Indianola, and Billy Ray Baggett and his wife Margaret of Shaw; six daughters, Shirley Anderson and her husband James of Lake Village, Arkansas, Dottie Lawler and her husband Steve of Kosciusko, Betty Mae Gordon and her husband Johnny of Pontotoc, Lillie Mae Kline and her husband Charles of Cleveland, Norma Jean Burden and her husband Dale of Memphis, and Dorthy Jean Nelson of Florence; one brother, William Lee Brooks of Lake Village; thirty two grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 22, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Burton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
