Money Alton Tankesly, Jr., 84, of Lexington and formerly of Indianola, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. Mr. Tankesly

was born in Indianola and was the son of Money Alton and Nellie McElroy Tankesly.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Second Baptist Church.

Mr.Tankesly was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vercy Sykes; brother, Percy Tankesly; daughter, Judy Tankesly Reed; and son, Money Alton Tankesly, III. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Marquis Tankesly of Lexington; son, Mark Tankesly (Lynne) of Horn Lake; daughter, Cathy Tankesly Nelms of Lexington; sister, Jeanette Ingold of Indianola; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Burton Funeral Home, Indianola. Interment will follow in Indianola City Cemetery, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.
