Nancy Angelene Childs Durham, 59, of Belzoni, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Nancy was born on September 24, 1965, in Belzoni, to Billy Joe and Donie Ruth Diffey Childs. She was a graduate of Humphreys Academy and received her bachelor's degree in education. Nancy taught school at Humphreys County Public Schools and worked as a substitute teacher at Humphreys Academy. She worked as a night data processor for Guaranty Bank and Trust for over 10 years prior to her illness. Nancy enjoyed crocheting, researching ancestry, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a proud member of the DAR.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Durham; and brother, Joey Childs.

She is survived by her sister, Anita Forbes (Robbie) of Belzoni; nephew, Preston Forbes (Brooke) of Belzoni; and one great-nephew, Owen Preston Forbes, who is on the way. Nancy is also survived by a special cousin, Lynn Gokharmon; lifetime friends, Tammy Hodnett Marlow and Darwin Dillion; and Godchildren, Wes, Sky, and Hannah Franklin, Dominick Phillips, and Kelly Hood.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Straight Bayou Cemetery in Anguilla with Rev. Steve Thomas officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
