If heaven has a piano, then the music became sweeter on Sunday, September 3, 2018, when Neda Anderson, 90, of Inverness, entered her eternal home. Oneida Belle "Neda" Maxwell Anderson was born on September 8, 1927 in Ruleville to Aubrey Clinton Maxwell and Lelia Wright Maxwell. She attended Inverness High School and graduated as valedictorian in 1945. She quickly began her more than 30-year banking career at the Bank of Inverness which later became Deposit Guaranty and then Planters Bank.

Neda married a military man, Jack G. Anderson, and accompanied him to places far and near including Florida, Arizona, Germany, and Tennessee. Her love for fine art was cultivated when they lived overseas, and she was able to witness many of the world's masterpieces.

Music was a huge source of pleasure for Neda. She was a gifted pianist and could play most music by ear, especially her beloved hymns. She used her musical gifts at church, for her personal pleasure, and for the residents of Indywood.

A skilled cook and baker, Neda was known for her delicious cakes and desserts which she shared generously with her family and friends. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Inverness where she sang in the choir, attended Sunday School, and took part in the UMW. She also enjoyed being a part of the Explorers Bible Study in Indianola until her health declined.

Neda is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Lelia Maxwell, her husband, Jack G. Anderson, and her two brothers, A.K. "Kenneth" Maxwell and R.L. Maxwell.

She is survived by her three children, Kathy Johnston (Les) of Knoxville, TN, Leslie Anderson of Holcomb, and Mike Anderson of Indianola; her grandchildren Anna Katherine Johnston of Knoxville, TN, Garraway Anderson of Memphis, TN, Max Anderson of Mobile, AL, Jennifer Fines (Corey) of Amory, and Thomas Keith Morgan II of Winnebow, NC; great grandchildren, Rose Katherine Johnston, Anna Kyle Fines, Cagney Fines, Jackson Morgan, Essie Mae Morgan, and Charliebelle Morgan; two sisters, Mable Wilson and Levenia Barnes of Shreveport.

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Inverness on Friday, September 7 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10-11 in the sanctuary. Interment will be at Southside Cemetery for family members only. Burton Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wade Dowell and the caring and compassionate medical personnel who ministered to Neda in her last days.
