Patricia Allen Abel Williamson, affectionately known as "Mrs. Pat", 84, of Indianola, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Pat was born November 6, 1938, in O'Reily, to Cledith and John Watkins "J.W." Abel of Drew. She graduated from Drew High School and Draughn's Business School. Mrs. Pat married Marx Dewayne Williamson from Drew on April 5, 1958. He was her first true love and she adored him. She started keeping children in her home in 1964, and retired in October 2019 after 54 years. Mrs. Pat was an Indianola Icon and raised 2-3 generations. She loved children and babies. She potty trained THOUSANDS of toddlers, changed even more diapers, fed them home cooked meals, and treated them all like her own children and grandchildren. Mrs. Pat loved roses, hummingbirds, and red birds. She always put her five children first. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren. Mrs. Pat rarely missed a baseball, soccer, football, or basketball game. Her true love was her zero-turn John Deere mower. She would mow grass at the farm in Merigold for the whole weekend and had all grandsons busy with projects. Mrs. Pat played the piano at Bethany Baptist Church in Merigold from high school until present. She loved country music, especially the Dixie Chicks.

Mrs. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Cledith Abel and grandson, Marx Dewayne Williamson, III "Trey".

She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Marx "Dewayne" Williamson, Sr. of Indianola; sister, Brenda Griffin of Greenwood; five children, "Marx" Dewayne Williamson, II of Byhalia, Celia Williamson of Merigold, Susan Williamson Giglio (Cousie) of Indianola, Beth Williamson MacLeod (Kempton) of Indianola, and Matt Williamson (Tracey) of Indianola; and eight grandchildren, Anna Rachel Williamson Cox (Hunter) of Madison, Ashley Abel Giglio, Rebecca MacLeod, Mattie Beth Williamson, Emma Kate MacLeod, Noah MacLeod, Abel Williamson, and Levi Williamson; and two great grandchildren, Cade Cox and Cain Cox of Madison.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Eastwood Baptist Church in Indianola. Burial will follow in the Williamson Family Cemetery in Merigold. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
