On Friday, August 27,2021, Patricia Louise Stout Johnson, loving wife and mother of three, passed away at the age of 88.

Pat was born on August 7, 1933 in Vicksburg, MS to Teddy and Louise Stout.  She attended Brenau University in Gainesville, GA, before transferring to the University of Mississippi, where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Education.  While at Ole Miss she met her husband, G Clarke Johnson.  After graduating in 1955 they moved to Greenville where she taught Elementary School.  She was a member of the Greenville Garden Club.

When they moved to Indianola Pat became a substitute teacher and worked at the Indianola Public Library.  She was a certified Red Cross Swim Instructor and taught swimming lessons for many years.

She and her husband ran Caldwell Drug Store for many years later buying the business and renamed it Johnson's Pharmacy.  The business included a bridal registry and gift shop that she managed until her retirement.

Pat loved playing bridge and was active in the Garden Club.

She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church before joining the First Methodist Church in Indianola, MS

Pat and Clarke lived in Indianola, MS for 50 years where they raised their three children, Keith, Karen, and Craig.  They moved to Tupelo several years after their retirement.

She is preceded in death by her father, George Harry Stout, her mother, Louise Rhyne Stout, and her husband, Gaither Clarke Johnson.

She is survived by her three children: Keith (Jane) Johnson of Burnsville, NC, Karen Morris of Tupelo, and Craig (Martha) Johnson of Cleveland, grandchildren: Seth Johnson, Bess McMillan, Stuart (Annalee) Johnson, Amanda (Sloane) Andrews, Stacy (Jason) Collins, Ricky (Nichole) Denton, and Melissa (David) Norquist along with 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola, MS from 1-2pm.  There will be a short celebration of life at 2pm.  A private family graveside service will follow, conditions permitting.
