Patsy Lester Johnson, 77, of Indianola, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

Patsy was born November 9, 1942 in Indianola to Horace Lee "Blackhawk" Lester and Lela Mae Landham Lester. She worked many years in construction for Frankie McClain prior to his death. Patsy was a very hard worker. She adored her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patsy was a member of Mt. Zion Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Johnson; three sisters, Margaret Mitchell, Mary Alice Ouzts, and Miriam Sue Forrest; and two brothers, Horace Eugene Lester and James Hugh Lester.

Patsy leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Joe Alton McClure and wife Tonya of Coila, and Charles Johnson of Indianola; two daughters, Sheila Phillips and her husband Henry of Indianola, and Patsy Richardson and her husband Eddie of Yazoo City; one brother, Fred Ray Lester of Greenwood; two sisters, Sandra Land and Deborah Robertson both of Winona; five grandchildren, Susan Liddell, Henry Phillips, Jr., Chrissy Whitfield, Jodi Hearn, and Margaret Nobles; eighteen great grandchildren; and her special friend, Denner Woods of Shaw.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 24, 2020 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in McNutt Cemetery in Schlater. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
