Patsy Bailey Schuller, 79, of Lauderdale, died Friday, June 14, 2024, at her home. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home of Indianola. Rev. Gary Howse will officiate the service and Rev. Tony Proctor will provide music.
Patsy was born on September 27, 1944, to the Rev. E. Allen Bailey, Jr. and Lavelle Ferguson Bailey. She received her B.S.E. degree from Delta State University. In 1965, Patsy married the love of her life, David Michael Schuller from Indianola. Patsy began her teaching career at Lockard Elementary School in Indianola. After moving to Cleveland, Patsy continued her teaching career until 1983. She then owned and managed The Commissary and Greek Korner in Cleveland. In 1990, she and Mike moved to Meridian where she returned to teaching until her retirement in 2006.
Patsy has always been an active member of various community organizations: Junior Auxiliary Club, Garden Clubs, Dalewood Supporters, and Delta State Alumni. She has also been a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and has held various positions within the church.
Her favorite pastimes included playing the piano and organ, teaching English literature, decorating homes, reading, playing bridge, and being around family and friends.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, David Michael Schuller; and her parents, The Rev. E. Allen Bailey, Jr. and Lavelle Ferguson Bailey.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristie Anders; and her grandson, Bradley Anders of Lauderdale; sister, Judy B. Barr (Bobby) of Greenville; niece, Jessica Seale (Mark) of Brandon; nephew, Robert Barr (Chelsea) of Grand Junction, Colorado; and four great nephews, Caleb Seale and Walt Seale of Brandon; and Rocco Barr and Dylan Barr of Grand Junction, Colorado.
