Paul Lamar Beckwith, 60, of Belzoni, passed away on March 30, 2024, at his home.

Paul was born on July 24, 1964, in Belzoni, to George Yancy Beckwith and Helen Green Beckwith. He owned Beckwith Fish Farms for many years before retiring this year. Paul was considered a kind and loving man. He never met a stranger. Everyone was just another friend to him. He would give the shirt off his back if it meant helping someone. Paul loved the work he did, but nothing made him happier than spending time with his family.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Dallas and Jan Hughes Foster; two brothers, William Yancy Beckwith and Jimmy McNair; his nephew, Jay Hughes; and his niece, Tana Hughes.

He is survived by his son, Michael Beckwith (Nikki); two daughters, Paula Eldridge (Jason) and Holly Beckwith; three brothers, Stanley Marshall, Ed Beckwith (Sheila), and Gary Beckwith; seven sisters, Dixie Pickell, Alisa Beckwith Hughes, Mary Alice Taylor (Allen), Rose Hester (Danny), Becky Jackson, Cammie Bennett, and Connie Self (Scott); four grandchildren, Jacy Eldridge, James Michael Beckwith, Jada Eldridge, and Hadley Beckwith; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM, at his residence, 950 16th Section Rd. in Belzoni on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 with Rev. Richard Wiman officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
